Glogster is a good teaching tool. My fourth assignment in my class, Principles of Instructional Technology, was to create an interactive poster. Glogster.edu was a new resource for me; it has tools to create a really good interactive poster, but like all technology we have to get used to it. I started practicing and getting to know all of the tools that it has, and at the same time reading and watching the videos posted on Angel by our teacher. This time it took me more time, because I had to decide what to teach with my poster. I spent a lot a time looking for videos from Internet links. I decided to make a power point presentation with the content I wanted to teach. I read about how we can attach data to the poster, but when I finished my power point presentation I had some trouble putting it in my poster. Finally, I did it. Having completed all of the elements required by the rubric, I started to organize them in my poster. I still need more practice with this new resource, but I think it is a great tool for developing creativity for students and teachers. It is a great tool to have an interactive class. It makes learning fun for students. I invite you to see my poster at pratcliff.edu.glogster.com/spanis-regular-verbs

Blog Reflection Post
The second assignment for my class was to create a “blog”. I didn’t know anything about how to create
blogs, so I started researching about them. We can create a blog with different
topics, some blogs talk about politics, sports, education, or are personal
journals. All blogs have some similarities such as the name of the blog, the
author’s profile; the posts are chronologically reverse (the most recent on the
top), there is a section for comments, and a list of links. Some blogs have
videos. After I educated myself about blogs, I started my adventure. First, I
used blogeducation.com to create my blog, I started to personalize it, but I couldn’t
do everything I wanted to do. If I wanted to have more resources I needed to
upgrade and pay a monthly fee. I chose not to do it. I decided to try another
blog site. The new website was blogger.com. I really like it because it allowed
you to personalize your blog with more features. I was thinking about what name
would be good for my blog. I decided to name it Learning Spanish because I will be
sharing Spanish words with pictures. My followers could learn a new language while they
follow me through this technology journey. Blogs can be very useful for
teachers as an easier way to communicate with parents and students.
Updating every day with comments and posting homework as well. Students and parents can ask questions, and/or write their opinion about the material posted. Blogs can make
communication more fun and creative.

Voki Reflection Post
In
my class, Principles of Instructional Technology, my first assignment was to
create an avatar in voki.com. This website allows you to customize the background of the avatar, the way it talks, and the way it looks. When you add the voice to your avatar the website gives you different options, you could record your own voice or you can assign one of the already recorded voices. For this project, I had to record my own voice. I enjoyed the activity; creating my avatar was
fun, I decided to make it look similar to me. I had no trouble creating my voki
at first, but when I wanted to record my voice, I couldn’t save it. I tried to
record my voice with the microphone and with my computer, but after many
attempts to save it, I had no success. I opted to use the call mode, I recorded my
voice by phone, and finally I had succeeded. Other than that little problem
everything worked great. Voki is a good, fun and hands on tool to use with
students to make the learning environment more fun and interesting. I will be
using it with my kids at my Elementary school. They can create their own avatar to practice their pronuntiation. They will have the opportunity to hear their own voices. I have incorporated technology with learning. It is an entretaining way to learn.
